Those who want to experience FERROPOLIS actively need to try out the equipment. A stringing climbing frame made out of the materials steel and rubber, patterned on the overburden equipments and the huge band conveyors invite to climb in front of a stunning scenery or just to relax and enjoy the view over the area with the steeled giants and the lake Gremmin.
Smaller mechanic and full functional reconstructions of the excavators bring both children and adults to think oneself back to the era of the brown coal open mining.
African forest elephant
In FERROPOLIS you can visit a moulding of the bones of a 120000 years old African forest elephant. The bones were found in the year 1987 and give, together with other findings, such as instruments and fire stones, an impressive insight into a former time.
